What's better than a day of flying RC planes? A day of flying RC planes and dropping bombs! The bomb drop uses a 9g servo and a short rod. It's easy to mount using double sided tape, adhesive back velcro, hot glue, or screws.
Printing is easy, no supports required. The following settings are what we use:
Mount:
0.20mm Layer Height
3 Wall Loops
5 Top layers
5 bottom layers
15% Gyroid Infill
Bomb:
0.20mm Layer Height
Seam Position: Back
2 Wall Loops with PC, 3 or more if using PLA or PETG
5 Top Layers
3 Bottom Layers
15% Gyroid Infill
Add a modifier and size it for the top half of the bomb, starting at the top of the drop latch
999 Wall loops (For strength)
The modifier on the bomb serves 2 purposes.
It makes the nose of the bomb heaver so the bomb drops in the correct orientation.
It makes the nose of the bomb VERY strong so it can survive multiple drops.

36mm (about 1 1/2") circumference at widest point
